CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY

When we set out to build Sarla, we sought to establish a sovereign cultural house that opens dialogues about conscious consumerism, cultural APPRECIATION, preservation of endangered craft, embrace humanity, nature in all its forms and makes space in this world for craft and craftspeople, give them a voice, dignity and the credit they are long due.

Madhya Pradesh Forest Department & Gram Van Samitis

That journey begins not in a corporate boardroom, but in the slow, deliberate rhythm of the Narmada river basin, deep within the government-regulated forest depots of Madhya Pradesh. Here, we anchor our environmental integrity through a vital alliance with the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department (MP Van Vibhag) and local Village Forest Committees (Van Samitis) operating under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), India. Instead of felling living trees - which stand as irreplaceable, active carbon sinks - we curate timber sourced exclusively through the digital National Transit Pass System (NTPS) as naturally fallen and naturally dried seasonal wood from the forest floor. Hence, based on when you place an order with us, you receive the type of wood that is seasonal to the time of year and specific to the geographical area it naturally fell in, making nature, not us, responsible for the type of timber we carve.

Every legitimate log is cataloged and stamped with a unique government hammer mark, creating an unbroken chain of custody that provides verifiable proof of zero illegal deforestation while clearing deadwood hazards and safeguarding active forest ecosystems.

Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Government of India

From these depots, the timber travels directly to our neighborhood artisan clusters, where we systematically shrink our carbon emissions by equipping our makers with solar-powered machinery, replacing conventional energy grids with clean, renewable solar setups. Inside these workshops, our partner craftspeople - officially registered as master artisans under Hast Shilp Vikas Nigam (HSVN), shape the wood using time-honored techniques.

This government facilitated registration is our bedrock of credibility; it guarantees uncompromised fair-trade compensation, strict adherence to zero child labor, and absolute ethical attribution, ensuring that traditional creators retain complete dignity and credit.

All our artisans are registered with the Sant Ravidas Madhya Pradesh Hastashilp Evam Hathkargha Vikas Nigam Limited, which operates under the well-known brand name Mrignayanee, which showcases authentic handloom and handicraft products. Official registration of all partner artisans under the Madhya Pradesh Hast Shilp Vikas Nigam (Government of India).

Geographical Indication Tags & ODOP (One District, One Product) framework

Every artform represented by Sarla is rooted in generational communities with practices that are centuries old and on the verge of extinction. Geographical Indication (GI) tags and falling within India's official ODOP (One District, One Product) framework certifies their authentic heritage and endangered status. To protect cultural heritage, Sarla works strictly within these frameworks. We are proud represent dying, centuries-old crafts and master craftsmanship that machines cannot replicate.

SGS Laboratory Quality & Non-Toxic Safety Certification

We submitted our solid wooden tools to SGS - the world’s leading independent laboratory testing and inspection authority. We are grateful to share that we pass their quality testing parameters, which were uncompromising in . All to prove that our wood is pure and facilitates chemical free healing.
