About SARLA
At Sarla, we believe in the beauty of artisanship, their handicraft and the strength of tradition - an intricately crafted wooden accessory, a perfectly ripe fruit, a handwoven basket, a family recipe passed down through generations.
Our various shop categories like art, jewellery, home, health and self-care, aim to highlight stories from different cultures through the works of artists and designers who have a unique voice representing their histories through local and traditional craftsmanship. Our true love lies in traveling all across lands and fields to collect treasures of the past, then giving it a spotlight.
Sarla is an invitation to slow down and embrace the rituals that have supported wellbeing for generations. We celebrate the hands that carve, the forests that give and the stories that connect us all.
This is an assortment of intentional objects, made with kindness and meant to bring a sense of peace to your everyday life. Sarla exists to honour the artisans, their heritage and the beautiful handicraft that is the result of their cultural lineages that shaped South Asian craft.
our vision
We are on a mission to organically grow our community by travelling to different parts of the world, collaborate with independent artists to create authentic experiences and workshops that take our community on an unforgettable journey.
Our mission
Connecting our global community to their roots and culture via thoroughly designed themes, marketplaces and workshops.
With our cultural house, we aim to inspire our community and the youth to learn ancient crafts of our land and carry knowledge passed down to us over generations. Pushing for artisans and community to be our teachers will be the most authentic form of learning and a way to revive dying crafts of our own countries and around the world.
Our Brand Impact
-
In a world obsessed with fast trends and mass production, we’re choosing to slow down and stay grounded. We aren’t into "fast wellness" or products that are just made to look good in a photo. We work with wood from trees that have naturally fallen, turning raw materials into tools that actually have a story. We’re rejecting the idea that everything needs to be fast and cheap, and instead focusing on things that are meant to last.
-
We think there is real power in keeping traditional skills alive. Our tools are made by generational artisans - people who have mastered their craft over decades - because machines just can’t replicate that kind of human touch. By making sure our artisans are paid fairly and properly credited, we’re taking the power away from giant corporations and putting it back where it belongs: with the creators.
-
For us, it’s all about respecting where we come from. We want South Asian traditions to be at the heart of how people think about wellbeing today. We’re building a community that values deep roots and ethical choices over short-lived trends. We aren’t just a brand; we’re a movement to make sure heritage, craft, and sustainability are at the center of how we live.
Our craftsmen
We are building a future where craft, community and cultural pride are valued.
FAQs
-
Yes. Every Sarla product is crafted by hand using traditional methods passed down through generations. Our artisans work without industrial machines, embracing time, texture, and imperfection.
-
Not exactly — and that’s the beauty of it. Due to the handmade nature and natural materials, each piece may vary slightly in grain, shade, or finish. These variations are a mark of authenticity and craft, not flaws.
-
Our wooden products are made using wood sourced through official Forest Department invoices and transit permit/transit pass documentation, where the material is recorded as naturally fallen wood. This helps us avoid unnecessary tree cutting and supports responsible use of existing natural resources.
We keep invoices and sourcing records for our wood purchases to maintain traceability and accountability in our production process. -
